After carefully monitoring how users interacted with the HOT v1 and identifying the possible improvements to create a better user experience for travellers, Vesess worked hard to make HOT v2 simpler, faster, and more secure. Developing the site architecture, and making it more robust, the development team ensured that future expansion of the site could be done with ease, and most importantly, without compromising performance.
Secondly, and perhaps most importantly, the search and booking process was simplified, allowing users to get their bookings with the least amount of interference by the system. The team’s approach to usability was re-analysed during this process, and many subtle changes to the flow of the site were made as well.
Of course, many new features were added to HOT in the process. User accounts were added, enabling the use of Cashback, a feature where the user gets money back from every booking he or she makes. This, in essence forms the crux of HOT’s new strategy, and is therefore the most important feature of this new release.
In addition to these major features, the Vesess team also worked on integrating new media content such as blog posts, photos and hotel reviews from around the web into HOT’s city guide section, making the pages rich and interesting.
